Medical school program leaders can apply to receive Clarius Ultrasound Imaging scanners for education and training

Clarius Initiates $200,000 Medical School Award Program

March 30, 2018 — Clarius Mobile Health is introducing its Clarius Medical School Award Program. Under that program, Clarius will grant over $200,000 worth of Clarius Ultrasound Imaging scanners to selected medical schools after applications are reviewed by an independent clinical panel.

"Teaching ultrasound in medical schools at the undergraduate level is key to raising awareness of the benefits of ultrasound in a myriad of medical specialties and general practice" said Pete Tonseth, M.D., radiologist and education lead for the Medical Undergraduate Ultrasound Program at the University of British Columbia. "The Clarius handheld ultrasound device is perfectly suited to enable educators and students to excel in their initial exposure to ultrasound."

While ultra-portable, the Clarius Ultrasound Scanners do not compromise on image quality, building upon high-density, high-sensitivity piezoelectric material and system-on-chip electronics. The Clarius C3 Tri-scanner incorporates proprietary technology to provide high-resolution images across all parts of the body including abdomen, lungs, heart and superficial structures. Clarius Cloud enables a central repository where students and educators can store, review and interact with exams, allowing for credentialing.

Medical school program leaders can apply for the award online at www.clarius.com/msa. The winners will be announced at the World Congress of Ultrasound in Medical Education, Sept. 14-16 in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Clarius differentiates itself from its competitors by offering the ability to image wirelessly on a variety of devices, from iPhones and iPads to Android phones and tablets. Clarius Scanners are also powered by a removable battery, and can scan without interruption using a simple fan clip-on accessory. They feature a rugged magnesium case and are fully submersible for cleaning.

Clarius Mobile Health exhibited at the American Institute of Ultrasound In Medicine (AIUM) 2018 conference, March 24-28 in New York City.
