Merger combines companies’ products to offer more choice in ultrasonic tissue mimicking materials

November 17, 2017 — CIRS Inc. recently announced the acquisition of ATS Laboratories in Bridgeport, Conn. This merger brings together both company’s technologies, providing a new choice in ultrasonic tissue mimicking materials.

ATS Laboratories Inc. was established in 1978 as a privately held corporation in Bridgeport. The company designs and manufacturers tissue-mimicking phantoms for the routine performance monitoring, training and in-process production testing of ultrasound imaging systems. Both company’s ultrasound products are similar but using different tissue mimicking materials.

The companies said the incorporation of ATS into CIRS will transpire over the next few weeks, with ATS products readily available with little or no delay in filling customer orders. ATS products will be manufactured and delivered from Norfolk, Va., by CIRS beginning early next year.
