Dynamic MUSICA and new X-Team Technology further enrich the versatile and flexible DR 800

Agfa HealthCare Previews DR 800 Multipurpose DR System at RSNA 2017

October 25, 2017 — Agfa HealthCare announced that it will demonstrate its multi-purpose DR 800 X-ray room, a work in process, at the 2017 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting, Nov. 26-Dec. 1 in Chicago. The multipurpose digital radiography (DR) solution — which delivers radiography, fluoroscopy and advanced clinical applications in one single system — is enriched with Dynamic MUSICA image processing and the new X-Team Technology for viewing and communicating.

Offering increased functionality and efficiency, the DR 800 will support the role of radiology in the value-based care organization. The fully integrated solution was designed to enable radiology to meet the growing demand for fluoroscopy, without requiring multiple investments. It can handle a full range of radiography (including static exams and tilting exams) and fluoroscopy exams (including barium studies, arthrograms, cystograms, myelography and catheter placement, etc.) It combines positioning freedom, workflow improvements and high image quality, and includes a range of features and tools that minimize exam preparation and procedure time, while maximizing patient care.

The DR 800 comes with Dynamic MUSICA high-speed, multi-scale image processing, which can now also process moving images. Providing excellent detail even at low dose, according to the company, this software supports confident, comfortable reading. Dynamic MUSICA also enhances noise suppression, offers superb brightness stabilization, reduces veiling glare and can play a significant role in enabling potential dose reduction.

At RSNA 2017, Agfa HealthCare will also demonstrate its new X-Team Technology. This workflow enrichment integrates the Xero universal viewer — which provides secure access to images from different departments and sources, in one view — in the MUSICA workstation. Collaboration features, such as instant messaging and clinical dialogue, enhance consultation on study acquisition between radiologists and radiographers.

With its VarioDrive positioning and workflow improvements, the DR 800 enhances both efficiency and patient satisfaction. Its 180 cm SID enables high-quality chest imaging. The highly customizable DR 800 can be equipped with high-frequency fluoroscopy generator options of 50, 65 or 80 kW, a console for patient-side positioning, a wireless console for remote control, a compressor cone and an auto-switching anti-scatter grid. EasyStitch technology enables fast and high-precision Full Leg Full Spine exams, while LiveVision technology allows for dose-free remote positioning. Use of cesium iodide (CsI) detector technology combined with MUSICA image processing offers high-speed, high-resolution imaging and enables the potential for dose reduction.
