Multipurpose digital system combines radiography and fluoroscopy with dynamic image processing for advanced clinical applications

Agfa HealthCare Previews New DR 800 Imaging System at AHRA 2017

July 11, 2017 — Agfa HealthCare will display the new DR 800 Multi-Purpose Digital Imaging System with MUSICA for dynamic image processing at the 2017 annual meeting of the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA 2017), July 9-12 in Anaheim, Calif.. The DR 800 delivers radiography, fluoroscopy and advanced clinical applications. Agfa HealthCare developed MUSICA for dynamic image processing for customers focused on value-based care who require solutions that assure every image counts.

The multipurpose digital radiography (DR) suite is designed to enable radiology to meet the growing demand for fluoroscopy, without requiring multiple investments. The DR 800 delivers a comprehensive, reliable solution designed to handle a full range of radiographic exams (skeletal, thorax, abdomen, weight bearing) and fluoroscopy exams (including barium studies, arthrograms, cystograms, myelography and catheter placement, etc.).

The system deploys MUSICA high-speed, multi-scale image processing, to process fluoroscopic images with the same high quality and low dose features of other Agfa systems. Along with enhanced noise suppression and powerful brightness control, MUSICA for dynamic image processing reduces veiling glare, while enabling dose reduction.

The DR 800 solution offers high-quality radioscopy and fluoroscopy in supine and upright positions. With its 180 cm SID and auto-positioning presets, chest imaging is possible without additional X-ray tubes or wallstands. The highly customizable DR 800 can be equipped with high-frequency fluoroscopy generator options of 50, 65 or 80 kW, a console for patient-side positioning, a wireless console for remote control, a compressor cone and an auto-switching anti-scatter grid. EasyStitch technology enables fast and high-precision Full Leg Full Spine exams, while LiveVision technology allows for accurate dose-free remote positioning by providing a first-person camera view of the patient. Combined with MUSICA image processing, advanced cesium iodide (CsI) detector technology offers high-speed, high-resolution imaging at low dose. The flexible positioning, optimized workflow and premium image quality offered by the DR 800 will enhance both staff efficiency and patient satisfaction, according to Agfa.
