November 14, 2016 — NEC Display Solutions of America recently announced its decision to redirect development resources away from future medical diagnostic displays and instead to focus on its extensive healthcare display portfolio. With the growing need for displays in the healthcare segment, NEC said it is ideally placed to meet the needs of the market by offering a wide range of display solutions, such as healthcare clinical review displays, operating theatre displays, and healthcare information and signage solutions.
To meet the evolving customer demands in healthcare, NEC will now focus its development efforts and resources in key business areas, including clinical review, administration and back office, information way-finding, digital signage, education and conferencing. NEC will continue to bring display innovations to its professional healthcare product portfolio. Its non-diagnostic display partners and OEMs are not affected by NEC’s transition.
The company will continue to support all diagnostic products sold through their warranty periods, including any updates to GammaCompMD QA (quality assurance) software. For North American customers, the period is five years from the date of sale and includes Advanced Overnight Exchange Warranty.
