July 7, 2016 — Laurel Bridge Software, provider of enterprise medical imaging workflow solutions, announced new workflow capabilities that enable healthcare organizations to meet their evolving healthcare delivery needs, which increasingly require images. The company exhibited these new offerings at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) 2016 annual meeting, June 29-July 1 in Portland, Ore.
Recent enhancements to the Compass Routing and Workflow Manager include HL7 message routing, non-DICOM file transport, DICOM load distribution and balancing, and dictation system integration. A new enterprise version of Compass that includes a modularly scalable architecture and support for unrestricted DICOM message types will be available later in the summer. These new enterprise capabilities will enable healthcare providers to easily implement and manage a scalable workflow layer that enhances interoperability between multiple picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), vendor neutral archives (VNA) and clinical information technology (IT) environments.
Integration of Compass with other Laurel Bridge solutions, such as the Navigator - Imaging Retrieval Workflow Manager can solve very complex enterprise imaging workflow problems. For example, retrieving and normalizing imaging studies from multiple facilities, PACS, or VNA systems.
