Siemens Acuson S3000 HELX Evolution with Touch Control earns high marks for easy-to-learn user interface, 95 percent average task completion rate

May 17, 2016 — Macadamian Technologies, a user experience research, design and software development firm, recently announced the completion of a comprehensive usability test of Siemens Acuson S3000 ultrasound system, HELX Evolution with Touch Control. The study was conducted at the request of Siemens Healthineers Ultrasound Business Area to measure users’ performance and satisfaction with Siemens’ premium family of ultrasound systems following the company’s concerted effort to improve overall system usability. The results of Macadamian’s usability test substantiate Siemens’ assertion of industry-leading usability with the Acuson S Family, HELX Evolution with Touch Control.

The results from the study demonstrated that HELX Evolution with Touch Control is simple and easy to use, with a 95 percent average task completion rate and an overall average ease-of-use rating of 4.5 out of 5, where ‘5’ represents ‘very easy to use’.  With a score of 83 out of 100 on the industry standard System Usability Scale Questionnaire, the system demonstrated excellent usability performance. Scores over 80 are considered well above average while scores below 60 tend towards poor usability. An average score is 68.
