August 13, 2015 — East Texas Medical Center is able to provide patients with faster exams with significant image quality improvements while reducing patient dose with the latest installations of Fujifilm’s FDR D-EVO II digital X-ray detectors.
“The new digital X-ray detectors have been installed in the Level 1 trauma rooms in the emergency department in Tyler to help us improve the ease and speed of acquiring images,” said Bill Tobin, director of radiology. “The benefit to our patients is very impressive and we’ve been able to dramatically improve quality and reduce patient dose by as much as 70 percent compared to our previous digital X-ray system.”
The FDR D-EVO II detectors feature advances in design and functionality to enhance performance in radiographic imaging. The detectors are lightweight with a ruggedized magnesium alloy case and a sleek, smooth shape that simplifies positioning under patients. Inside, its electronics have been re-engineered to enhance dose efficiency and improve diagnostic image quality at ultra-low dose levels. D-EVO II is also protected with a Fujifilm-exclusive engineered antibacterial coating.
