January 20, 2015 — The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal association representing the software and digital content industries, announced the 2014 NextGen Award winners in the healthcare industries in October have been recognized with 2014 NextGen Awards.
SIIA’s NextGen program provides exposure to early-stage companies delivering game-changing solutions. The program aims to bring awareness to six verticals: Mobile, Social, Big Data, Security, Healthcare, and Financial Services. Nominating companies were judged by a group of industry experts who determined the Most Innovative, Most Disruptive and overall NextGen winner of the category.
The 2014 NextGen Award Winners in Healthcare are:
- Most Innovative and Overall Winner: DICOM Grid
DICOM Grid is a global cloud platform for medical imaging information and applications. Its patented data security transforms medical imaging information into a dynamic data warehouse where open web services provide universal access to clinically rich data. Physicians can safely and easily deploy cloud applications for medical imaging collaboration, exchange, vendor-neutral archive, business continuity, electronic medical record (EMR) integration, bio-informatics and more.
- Most Disruptive: EnterpriseWeb
EnterpriseWeb is a platform for agile and scalable software solutions. With EnterpriseWeb, organizations can improve user experiences, enforce targeted compliance and automate IT governance. The patented technology uses intelligent software agents to connect distributed application data and resources in real-time based on context for a new class of agile and scalable business solutions. Organizations around the world leverage EnterpriseWeb to support their mission-critical operations in industries as diverse as life sciences and telecom.
“Much of the discussion about market disruption has focused on large, brand name businesses, but there is tremendous innovation taking place at companies that get little attention,” said Rhianna Collier, vice president of the software division at SIIA. “NextGen companies–chosen by a Selection Committee comprised of M&A, VC and advisory executives–are young businesses that offer cutting-edge software and services.”
