October 9, 2014 — Sectra is now launching Sectra Image Lab — a platform that offers healthcare providers with straightforward access to medical image analysis as a service. The recently signed partner, Riverain Technologies, will offer its lung disease detection software via Sectra’s platform.
Sectra’s platform offers healthcare providers cost-effective access to various services for medical image analysis. Examinations are sent directly from the user’s system and the results of the analysis are then returned. All examinations sent to the platform are de-identified and all data communication is encrypted. The user is either invoiced on a monthly or quarterly basis for the examinations conducted or pays for a subscription. This solution enables healthcare providers to access applications for medical image analysis without having to pay installation or maintenance costs, which in turn benefits the patient.
“We see this as an important option for deploying Riverain tools to small and medium-sized healthcare institutions throughout the world. Our mission is to provide access to state-of-the-art software tools that have a positive impact on peoples’ lives,” says Steve Worrell, CEO at Riverain.
Sectra’s service for osteoporosis screening, Sectra OneScreen, and several other applications are already available through the service platform as part of the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation, Vinnova’s, “Challenge-driven Innovation” research program.
