August 1, 2014 — Novarad introduced RapidView, a proprietary memory management algorithm, with the Marz universal viewer 8.2 release.
RapidView allows the user to download images faster, without memory crashes that commonly occur with Web-based viewers. Instead of loading all images within a study in sequential order, RapidView analyzes the user’s behavior and adapts the image loading for an improved user experience.
By loading and prioritizing images by area, RapidView enables quick movement through studies by determining how and when images are loaded, relevant to the user’s behavior. RapidView saves memory space and download time, allowing the user to work more efficiently from a desktop or mobile device.
The Web-based Marz universal viewer gives medical providers unlimited access to both DICOM (digital imaging and communications in medicine) and non-DICOM imaging data. By providing a patient-centric listing sorted by imaging specialty or modality, the viewer provides a complete patient picture from a single access point. This data is remotely accessible through a Web browser, mobile device or an image-enabled electronic medical record (EMR), giving users the ability to view and manage data from any access point.
