January 30, 2014 — The Integrated Department of Diagnostic Services at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) and St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) deployed a real-time radiology peer review and quality assurance platform. Four hospitals went live Oct. 7, 2013 with the cross-institutional, cross-system, prospective peer review platform. The software platform can help physicians correct mistakes before a patient's diagnostic report is finalized.
HHS and SJHH piloted Real Time Medical’s DiaShare Quality to address shortcomings in their legacy QA solution. DiaShare matches radiologists of similar specialties while preserving anonymity of participants. The solution allows participating physicians to customize their peer review feedback to areas of greatest concern with an automated sampling of exams configurable to the exam type per user.
