January 30, 2014 — RaySearch Laboratories AB has entered into a long-term distribution agreement with Hitachi Medical Corporation. The agreement makes Hitachi fully responsible for marketing, sales and service of RaySearch’s treatment planning system, RayStation, in Japanese markets beginning April 1, 2014. Hitachi serves 300 of about 700 radiation therapy centers in Japan.
RayStation integrates RaySearch treatment planning solutions and combines unique features such as multi-criteria optimization tools with full support for 4-D adaptive radiation therapy. It also includes RaySearch’s algorithms for intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and VMAT optimization and dose engines for photon, electron and proton therapy.
