November 27, 2013 — Viztek, a provider of complete digital software and hardware diagnostic imaging solutions, will debut a modular solution that combats electronic health record (EHR) interface challenges for smoother radiology workflow at the Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting (RSNA 2013) Dec. 1-6 in Chicago. Amidst heavy and costly demands of regulations regarding interface requirements for Meaningful Use, Viztek’s solution for radiology service providers eliminates referral process stopgaps.

With the platform, Viztek will provide the first platform-agnostic EHR solution — compatible with MAC, Android, Windows and more — that fully functions at the browser-based level regardless of the operating system or device used. The company is sole-source providing the EHR through its established expertise in picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), practice management, billing, order entry, radiology reports, patient portals and other software products that they currently deliver. The platform will enable all radiology software components to seamlessly work together and in a Web-based architecture to ensure functionality of each component.

Viztek has leveraged its technology experience to create a web portal that makes the right tools accessible to the right people through the entire imaging exam process from scheduling to final report, reducing turnaround time and making the process more efficient.

“We’ve really focused on the interaction between the imaging providers and outside clinics, which has streamlined and refined care,” said Steve Deaton, vice president, Viztek. “Improved communication translates to improved results. This translates to an increase in efficiency and more satisfied referring physicians.”

Browser-based and fully functional on all platforms, direct access to key imaging and EHR data will be possible through this platform. Forms do not need to be scanned, signatures do not need follow-ups and faxing or personally delivering important items will no longer be needed. The platform enables widespread communication between radiology providers and surrounding clinics via direct EHR portals or integration with their existing PACS.

RSNA 2013 attendees can learn more about the platform by visiting Viztek at booth 8117 in Hall B of the North Building.
