Tools help radiologists shift towards value-based imaging

November 25, 2013 — Montage Healthcare Solutions Inc. will introduce enhancements to Montage Search and Analytics in support of radiologists’ increasing need to improve business performance and clinical quality understanding at the Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting (RSNA 2013) in Chicago.

A new Physicians Quality Reporting System (PQRS) dashboard will help practices take full advantage of PQRS program incentives by automatically identifying reports that include reportable radiology measures. Because participation in the PQRS program during 2013 will provide the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) the basis by which they determine penalties, tools that simplify participation in this program are very valuable. More information about how radiologists can participate in this program can be found on the American College of Radiology (ACR) website.

Montage Search and Analytics will also feature a residency dashboard that will enable radiology residency program directors to easily track resident progress and ensure compliance with the minimum required number of cases set forth by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

These expanded search-driven radiology analytics tools support radiology’s transition from volume-based to value-based imaging by providing the knowledge necessary to maintain productivity while enhancing clinical quality, outcomes and patient safety.

“We know the radiology community is facing numerous challenges and must adopt tools that facilitate the transition to the Imaging 3.0 paradigm,” said William Boonn, M.D., president, Montage Healthcare Solutions. “Clearly, radiologists can address productivity demands while simultaneously adding significant clinical value to patient care. Achieving these seemingly conflicting goals does require ongoing measurement and understanding of key performance indicators.”
