Panelists will discuss workflow solutions and benefits of cloud-based medical information exchange

June 4, 2012 Two executive experts from DR Systems, a provider of healthcare information systems, will present as panel members at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Society for Imaging Information in Medicine (SIIM). The conference will be held June 7-10 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Fla.

Murray Reicher, M.D., FACR, DR Systems’ co-founder and chairman, will be a member of a panel titled “Enterprise Imaging Workflow – Breaking Through the Congestion.” The session features radiology workflow experts who will show attendees how to assess their workflow and find solutions to workflow problems.

The panel will be held Friday, June 8, from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the Innovation Theater. The theater is in the Cyprus Ballroom, which is located in the exhibit hall.

“Because our company was founded by radiologists, our technology has numerous automation features that provide significant productivity enhancements to a radiology practice’s workflow,” said Reicher. “This is a big reason, for instance, that our PACS and our company have been repeatedly honored by organizations like KLAS over the years.”

Florent Saint-Clair, general manager of eMix, a business venture incubated by DR Systems, will be a panelist at a Vendor Tie-In Session called “Maximizing the Potential of Commercial Products for Image Sharing.” The session will discuss the future of image sharing, as well as “the limitations of CD/DVD based image exchange and how the transition to cloud-based solutions seeks to overcome them.”

The Vendor Tie-In Session will take place Thursday, June 7 from 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall’s Sago Palms Ballroom.

“Cloud-based medical information exchange is well on its way to becoming the dominant mode for image sharing,” said Saint-Clair. “eMix was there at the beginning of this revolution and has been one of the prime movers of it. I think our perspective on the present and future state of this technology will be appreciated by all who attend.”

Also at the SIIM conference, DR Systems will be exhibiting at Booth 703 in the exhibit hall. Products to be demonstrated include:

  • DR Systems Unity Enterprise Imaging Excellence Solution
  • e|HR – Meaningful Use for Medical Imaging
  • eMix – electronic Medical information exchange

The DR Systems Unity Enterprise Imaging Excellence Solution is a comprehensive, fully integrated approach to medical imaging that includes all imaging modalities and specialties, such as radiology, cardiology, pathology, orthopedics, and women’s health. Encompassing the entire imaging workflow process, the Unityv|Series includes RIS, CVIS, PACS, and Reporting modules.

The company’s e|HR – Meaningful Use for Medical Imaging is designed specifically for radiologists to qualify for the maximum federal incentive payments available from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for meaningful use compliance. e|HR is cloud-based, so it can connect to any pre-existing systems where a radiology practice’s patient data resides. Thus, e|HR can aggregate data from patients as well as upstream systems like a PACS, RIS, or HIS. It is a vendor-neutral, certified complete ambulatory EHR.

eMix is a vendor-neutral, cloud-based medical information exchange service for sharing patient exam images and reports as well as other medical information. The secure service is as easy to use as email and can be used to transfer files in minutes, replacing such problematic methods as CDs and virtual private networks (VPNs).
