Carestream’s Vue Archive and Vue Cloud Archive equip healthcare providers to collect images and data from a variety of information systems, deliver easy integration with any vendor’s EMR (electronic medical records), and offer advanced encryption and security measures, including 24/7 monitoring.

Carestream’s vendor-neutral archive communicates with multiple vendors’ RIS/PACS (radiology information system/picture archiving and communications system), cardiology, pathology and other information systems. It supports interoperability and integration standards and protocols such as HL7, DICOM (digital imaging and communications in medicine), non-DICOM, IHE (including XDS, XDS-i) and WADO (Web access to DICOM objects). Carestream’s archive also easily integrates data and/or images into any vendor’s EMR to facilitate the sharing of information with clinicians, referring physicians and specialists.
The Carestream Vue Motion zero-footprint viewer equips physicians with easy and intuitive access to the archive using only a Web browser or EMR portal. It is now available with an on-site PACS installation or as part of Vue for Cloud Services. The viewer expedites clinicians’ access to patient data and images by making information available on mobile devices, including iPads. Because Vue Motion is vendor-neutral, it can be integrated with multiple vendors’ PACS systems. Spire Healthcare, a private provider in the United Kingdom, uses Vue Motion to allow clinicians to securely view PACS images captured at 37 locations, including 27 sites with Carestream Vue RIS+PACS and 10 sites with another vendor’s PACS. Spire clinicians use mobile devices to show medical images to patients at their bedsides or as part of patient consultations held at other locations.
Vue Motion eliminates the need to download software for data or image viewing. The viewer can be embedded in an HIS (hospital information system) or EMR portal to enable authorized users across the enterprise to quickly and easily view patient data and images with a single login. The independent viewer can be integrated with other suppliers’ DICOM archives or XDS repositories to ensure that clinicians have access to current or prior imaging studies and other patient data whenever they need it.
