3-D Imaging Reconstruction Services Will Allow Radiology Groups to Improve Patient Care

April 17, 2012 — Radius LLC is expanding its unique pay-per-study RIS/PACS model to include the option of on-demand 3-D imaging reconstruction.

Radius has signed an agreement with Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO), an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), to provide 3-D imaging protocols and Tele3D Imaging Services from MGPO to deliver clinically-focused 3-D services to Radius’ client hospitals and imaging centers throughout the country, enhancing the diagnostic and treatment solutions they can offer to patients.

The Tele3D Imaging Service will enable Radius’ clients to supplement or eliminate their costly 3-D programs; in many cases, saving more than $250,000 a year in equipment, staff and operational efficiency. The 3-D imaging service will allow radiologists and technologists to increase their productivity while keeping more of their focus on patient care. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for increased reimbursable revenue.

Gordon J. Harris, Ph.D., director of the MGH 3D Imaging Service and professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School, stated that he is “pleased that the 3-D protocols developed and refined within our 3D Imaging Service will now be available to the wider medical community. In many ways 3-D technology has transformed the field of radiology and greatly enhanced the diagnostic and treatment-planning value of advanced imaging, while reducing costs and risk to patients. Our goal has been to make this expertise available to caregivers and patients far beyond our walls.”

“We are excited to make this unique offering available to all of our customers across the country, said Ken Nelson, CEO of Radius LLC. “The Tele 3D service will create new efficiencies and open up additional revenue opportunities all while enhancing the quality of patient care.”
