March 2, 2012 — Olympus presented its Professional Audio line of digital dictation technology at the HIMSS12 Annual Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas, Feb. 20-24.
The Professional Audio family includes the DS series – including the flagship Olympus DS-5000 digital recorder and the Olympus DS-3400 digital recorder which feature USB mass storage class, a large LCD screen, file encryption and decryption, as well as removable SD memory and computer link capabilities.
The newest products – the Directrec 1200, 2200 and 2300 – provide users with expanded technology. Features include a strategically placed slide switch (DR-2200 and DR-2300) and push-button (DR-1200) for one-handed navigation and access to commonly-used functions; a high-sensitivity microphone that blocks unwanted background noises; and a trackball that functions as a computer mouse to facilitate manipulation of data. The DR-2300 also includes a barcode scanner attachment, which enables automatic transmission of voice files to electronic health records and allows for additional security of sensitive information. In addition, the Olympus AS-5000 Transcription Kit comes with a foot switch, headset and software.
