January 3, 2012 – RaySearch Laboratories recently entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with the Chinese distributor Kang Li Da Trading Corporation, based in Beijing. The agreement means that Kang Li Da will be fully responsible for marketing, sales and service for RaySearch’s proprietary treatment planning system RayStation on the entire Chinese market.
China is one of the largest radiation therapy markets globally, with approximately 1,300 radiation therapy clinics. There is a strong focus on improving healthcare, so the radiation therapy sector is growing very rapidly and the number of clinics is expected to increase to 2,000 in less than five years. RayStation is pending regulatory clearance in China and the approval process is expected to last approximately a year and a half.
Kang Li Da was founded in 1996 and is a leading distributor of radiation therapy equipment in China. The company has approximately 20 employees and represents a wide range of international radiation therapy equipment suppliers, serving more than 500 customers. They are highly experienced in the treatment planning field where they have been active form more than a decade.
“China is the fastest growing radiation therapy market, so this agreement is extremely important to us,” said Johan Löf, CEO of RaySearch.
RayStation integrates all RaySearch’s advanced treatment planning solutions into a flexible treatment planning system. It combines unique features such as multi-criteria optimization tools with full support for 4-D adaptive radiation therapy.
