December 30, 2011 — Intelerad Medical Systems unveiled a new embedded Peer Review solution that was demonstrated at the RSNA annual meeting, Nov. 27-Dec. 1 in Chicago.
Following the example of the American College of Radiologists (ACR), requests to carry out a peer review are presented to radiologists within their regular reading and reporting workflow. This occurs when they open a prior study case that has been flagged for review, or they have the option to complete later from their peer review worklist. Organizations can set peer review quotas per radiologist that pertain to the specialty and qualifications of the radiologist.
Complete with a customizable scoring system, Peer Review ensures anonymization for radiologists so that reviews can be completed without bias. Scores are accessed through a web portal; the software can be included with the company’s IntelePACS (picture archiving and communications system), InteleOne or InteleSuite products. It can also be integrated into third-party reading environments.
Demonstrations will take place at RSNA 2011.
