With the availability of Horizon Medical Imaging 11.6, McKesson provides several enhancements to its workflow-focused solution, highlighted by an advanced mammography package featuring such improvements as sector zooming, historical matching, optimized zoom viewing, DICOM CAD SR and an auto-dim feature.

The Horizon Medical Imaging Control Station allows users to resolve common system issues by providing them with anytime, anywhere access to study information. Specifically, users can move and delete scanned documents; group and ungroup studies; resend HL7 study status notifications; and print and export study search results.

Radiologists can also efficiently organize and share images with Horizon Study Share™ 6.4. The latest version of the Web-based solution provides superior reference case management and clinical conferencing capabilities that result in rich, multimedia knowledge repositories to assist in diagnostics as well as research and training. The new release offers deeper integration with Horizon Medical Imaging for enhanced case creation, search and sharing with colleagues as well as a next-generation decision support interface.

McKesson’s latest image management technology – VTRIP™ (Variable Thickness Regional Intensity Projection) – is a workflow enhancement for Horizon Rad Station™ Advanced and Distributed workstations that offers more efficient reading of CT and MR studies. It provides radiologists the flexibility of working with the thin-slice data rather than relying on static thick-slice reconstructions from a modality console or external 3D software. And by embedding into existing display protocols, the solution allows for faster case reading times, scan-to-read times and increased scanner utilization.
