The pediatric Microcuff ET tube provides a superior tracheal seal at low cuff pressures compared to conventional PVC cuffs that, when inflated, can form channels that allow fluid to leak past the cuff.
Features include an advanced micro-thin cuff material that allows the channels to “self-seal,” reducing the possibility of micro-aspiration of potentially infectious secretions, a leading cause of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).
The tube is substantially thinner, yet its puncture strength and burst pressure are approximately double compared to conventional PVC cuffs.   Thinner material allows for greater visualization of vocal cords when the cuff is deflated.
The tube is designed for ideal anatomical cuff placement and provides a new level of safety with a low rate of reintubation and decreased risk of aspiration.
