Computers with Antimicrobial Additive Prevent Infection

IPIX computers now include an antimicrobial additive that aids healthcare facilities with infection control efforts. The computers’ sealed cabinets, fanless operation and sealed, washable keyboards also assist facilities in this area.

Incorporated into all plastic parts within Datalux IPIX computers, the silver-based antimicrobial additive prevents the growth of microbes on plastic surfaces — protecting the plastic from deteriorating and acting as a natural germ-fighter. When bacteria contact the computer’s surface, silver ions are released from the plastic additive and interact with the bacteria to stop it from spreading, multiplying or surviving.
