Siemens Medical Solutions’ fully digital prone table, MammoTest, has expanded Siemens’ biopsy portfolio by offering clinicians the choice of upright or prone stereotactic systems.
Based on the Fischer Imaging design, the MammoTest features a polar coordinate system that offers angled access and unobstructed views to all breast areas, enabling true all-angles and 360-degree patient and lesion access. Polar coordinate targeting and a high resolution fiber optic camera enable an increased number of biopsies to be performed, enhancing facility workflow and throughput. Its versatility also allows for handheld ultrasound biopsy and needle localizations.
MammoTest’s ergonomic table design allows the patient to rest in the more comfortable prone position, while its rotating gantry eliminates the need to reposition the patient during the examination. At 11 inches, the system’s central breast aperture is the largest in the industry and enables enhanced access to lesions high up the axilla region.
As with Opdima, Siemens’ combined spot-imaging and stereotactic biopsy system, the MammoTest offers all the advantages of a minimally invasive intervention.
