Companion Technologies has entered into a marketing agreement with Optical Image Technology Inc. (OIT) that will allow it to offer OIT’s DocFinity suite of document management and workflow software to its clients, Companion Technologies announced Tuesday.
Companion Technologies, based in Columbia, S.C., develops software for the healthcare industry. Its physician practice and electronic medical records management products improve healthcare organizations’ financial, clinical, and managed care operations. The DocFinity line of products, when integrated with Companion Technologies’ practice management software, enable healthcare organizations to operate efficiently and provide better services. DocFinity includes imaging and workflow functions that automate many of the front- and back-end office processes, enabling streamlined and cost-effective operations and ensuring that vital information is available wherever it is needed.
“We are pleased to offer the DocFinity document management and imaging
system to our client base,” said Cathy Huddle, Companion Technologies’ vice president for sales and marketing.
“DocFinity is an alternative for hospitals and physicians who are not ready for EMR (electronic medical records) and those that have EMR but want to take all aspects of their business paperless. The capability to create, store, manage and retrieve patient information, claims forms, business documents and other paperwork will allow our healthcare providers to improve service and increase efficiency.”
When a medical practice or hospital billing system adopts DocFinity software,
the organization is provided with a robust, flexible product that includes
document imaging, storage, and workflow (business process management) in an easy-to-use interface. A DocFinity system allows healthcare organizations to
scan and import important medical forms such as EOBs, HCFAs, UB92s, e-mails, lab results and x-rays, as well as business-related records such as
human resource and accounting records and related correspondence.
