June 27, 2007 – MEGADYNE announced the further extension of its E-Z Clean Disposable Laparoscopic Electrodes line with the addition of the Curved Spatula laparoscopic electrode. It is available in standard stem for use with hand-controlled electrosurgical pencils or as split stem for use with a foot-control cord.
E-Z Clean is MEGADYNE’s patented, green nonstick coating. E-Z clean tips minimize eschar build up and are used with lower power settings, which, according to the company, reduce excess smoke and thermal necrosis. Each disposable laparoscopic electrode is insulated to minimize the risk of injury to surrounding structures, while the E-Z Clean shaft is sturdy and rigid allowing direct tactile control of the tip.
