October 5, 2007 - Barco announced the release of its new wide-screen surgical display solution with full High-Definition resolution, the 24-inch MDSC-2124 at the ACS Clinical Congress, expanding its offerings of near-patient surgical displays and matching the fast evolution in High-Definition endoscopic imaging.
Barco’s 24-inch MDSC-2124 builds on the proven technology of the 19-inch MDSC-1119 display and introduces a wide-screen LCD panel featuring full HD resolution (1920 x 1200). Thanks to this bright, high-resolution LCD panel, surgeons using high-definition endoscopy cameras are reportedly presented with panoramic views and improved depth perception. Featuring broad input connectivity, the MDSC-2124 offers a versatile display solution for HD endoscopy cameras, room and boom cameras, ultrasound, PACS and patient information, according to Barco.
The MDSC-2124 display’s broad color gamut and wide viewing angle reportedly gives surgeons the information and the color accuracy they need to perform surgery with maximum efficiency, even when viewing the screen from an angle. Surgical staff can also select Picture-in-Picture or Picture-by-Picture views from multiple input signals, giving clinicians access to vital information from multiple sources during surgical procedures.
