February 12, 2008 - InfoLogix will introduce two new products at HIMSS 2008, the VoiceTrax voice communications system and the SurgiChip real-time wireless verification system using RFID technology.
The VoiceTrax will unveil a new integrated communications solution that could change the way hospitals works, the maker said. VoiceTrax takes critical voice communication and combines it with automated alerts to provide one delivery platform for asset and patient tracking. This integrated system sends alerts and notifications to mobile handsets about key events involving asset/patient movement, locate critical personnel, send duress alerts, and perform queries to locate key assets. The company says VoiceTrax can also assist in managing/synchronizing workflows, reducing inventories and increasing patient throughput.
InfoLogix will introduce SurgiChip, which is a complete real-time wireless verification system to help hospitals eliminate surgical errors. The company said it is a complete verification system using RFID technology in an automated, controlled process to accurately identify and document that a surgical team performs the proper procedure, on the correct patient, at the right surgical site, prior to the start of a procedure. Designed to directly address patient safety goals, SurgiChip provides an electronic audit trail to verify compliance with the Joint Commission's Universal Protocol.
