March 6, 2008 - Featured at NCBC 2008, the Cassi II Rotational Core Biopsy System by Sanarus Medical is reportedly the first large core biopsy device that is fully automated, self contained, hand-held and disposable.
The Visica Treatment System uses cryoablation as a minimally invasive means to surround and destroy a fibroadenoma in a lethal ball of ice. Throughout the procedure, ultrasound visualization provides, added safety and confirmation that the iceball has fully engulfed the fibroadenoma, said the company. This procedure can be performed in an office in about 30 minutes, using local anesthesia. This "in- office cryoablation technology" destroys fibroadenomas as an alternative to surgical excision, said Sanarus.
