April 8, 2008 - Vascular Solutions Inc. today said a jury has returned a verdict in its favor in the litigation against Marine Polymer Technologies Inc. for disparaging statements made regarding the safety of Vascular Solutions’ D-Stat Dry hemostat product.

The jury found Marine Polymer’s statements were false and disparaged the D-Stat Dry product and awarded Vascular Solutions $4.5 million in monetary damages. The jury rejected Marine Polymer’s counterclaims. This verdict is subject to customary post-trial motions in the U.S. Federal District Court for the District of Massachusetts and appeal.

The D-Stat Dry hemostatic bandage was introduced in 2003. It is used for the rapid control of topical bleeding.
