June 12, 2008 - C.R. Bard Inc. last week said it closed the acquisition of Specialized Health Products International Inc. and will immediately commence global marketing of the acquired line of vascular access products, including winged infusion sets.
Specialized Health Products International is a developer, manufacturer and marketer of proprietary safety medical products. It was merged June 6 into a wholly owned subsidiary of C. R. Bard for cash consideration of $68.4 million. The transaction was overwhelmingly approved by Specialized Health Products stockholders at a special meeting held June 5, with 90 percent of the votes cast in favor of the merger.
