June 25, 2008 — More than four million tons of general waste is produced annually by U.S. healthcare facilities.
To support AORN’s guidelines encouraging hospitals and surgical centers to create environmentally responsible policies and procedures, MEGADYNE has introduced the education program “It’s So Easy Being Green,” the fourth title in MEGADYNE’s continuing education curriculum.
The educational program presents an impartial discussion of medical equipment and vendors that conform to green practices by minimizing packaging to decrease waste. Topics discussed during the training include waste management, resource conservation and recycling practices applied conservation, item reprocessing, reuse and repair and green construction practices
All MEGADYNE continuing education programs are approved by AORN, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Participants will be awarded one contact hour of continuing education credit and will receive a certificate of completion for each seminar attended.
