August 15, 2008 - AFC Industries Inc. this week debuted the compact XLCD Cart, a computer workstation designed to maximize functionality and ergonomic comfort in a limited space.

A feature is the cart’s ability to accommodate monitors with up to a 42-inch viewing area, while maintaining a small footprint and mobile design.

The company said this sturdy mobile unit enables strategic placement of a computer and related technologies wherever needed to streamline access. At the same time, it is designed to support a full range of advanced user features and large-scale hardware.

The XLCD Cart features an adjustable monitor, keyboard, CPU and writing platform reportedly to ensure ergonomically correct placement for a full range of users. It enables easy movement for use when seated and standing.

Built around a space-saving single upright support, the XLCD Cart’s design combines a 26.5-inch diameter footprint and 72-inch height with all the stability and versatility of a larger multisupport design. The company said it is an excellent choice for small, highly trafficked spaces and for uses that require frequent movement, especially from one room to another, and it is particularly suited to the ER and OR environment.
