November 10, 2010 – During RSNA 2010, GE Healthcare will announce the availability of the Discovery NM/CT 670, an advanced hybrid imaging platform designed to improve workflow, dose management and overall image quality. The system combines a newly designed single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) gantry for greater positional flexibility, advanced nuclear imaging detectors and GE’s BrightSpeed Elite 16-slice CT.

The Discovery PET/CT 600 series positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) continues to expand with the Discovery PET/CT 690 with BrightSpeed Elite CT, which provides advanced imaging and applications capabilities, helping to enhance imaging quality and diagnostic confidence.

GE is also introducing a new tri-modality preclinical imaging system called the Triumph ll. The solid state digital imaging system has been upgraded to offer enhanced image quality, and quantitative capabilities, a wider bore size to fit larger animals, higher PET sensitivity, and new SPECT collimators for improved resolution and sensitivity.

Several technologies will be highlighted that improve dose management, increase efficiency and reduce exam times. This includes the technique of adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASIR), which helps reduce CT dose by up to 50 percent across the Discovery PET/CT 600 series platform and Discovery NM/CT 570c. With GE’s Alycone technology, available on Discovery NM 530c and Discovery NM 570c, clinicians are able to gather image data more quickly and allow up to a fourfold decrease in either imagi g time or injected patient dose.

GE’s SharpIR, a sophisticated iterative reconstruction enhancement to VUE Point HD and VUE Point FX, is offered across the Discovery PET/CT 600 series platform to enhance visual contrast and resolution in both whole-body and brain PET images.

A recent addition to the Tracercenter CMP platform is the Tracercenter 710S, a new cost effective upgradeable solution for customers establishing their own infrastructure platform for radiotracer research, production or distribution and produces tracers for oncology.
