A fully cloud-based, zero-footprint medical imaging management suite is now accessible through a standard Web browser. The VoXcell imaging suite, by KJAYA Medical, features complete RIS, PACS, image archiving and communication functionalities, plus a full range of advanced visualization tools.
For the first time, medical facilities can manage all imaging workflow using robust industry-standard applications, leading-edge 3-D processing, PET/CT viewing and more without the need for any tools other than Internet availability.
With the VoXcell imaging suite, full digital image management no longer requires any in-house hardware other than a typical web-enabled PC. Software purchases, downloads, and IT staff maintenance also is eliminated. In addition to full image interpretation and reporting, it supports image communications on the fly for referring physician reporting, remote consultations, trauma transfers and more.
At the heart of the technology are graphics processing units (GPUs), which are made up of hundreds of small processors that handle information simultaneously.
The VoXcell cloud is composed of high-performance GPU servers in geographically separate locations nationwide. The GPU storage area network and fiberoptically connected data centers enable rapid access to, and processing of, large medical data files while providing redundancy, unlimited storage and archiving capabilities. All processing is handled remotely on cloud server banks.
In addition to conventional 2-D PACS images, VoXcell can format and accurately deliver interactive on-demand high volume 3-D/4-D reconstructed images over the Internet. For example, it can display the latest 4-D 320 slice CR scan output comprising 6700 images (3.5GB data) in seconds.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared the VoXcell cloud-based advanced clinical viewing software as a diagnostic device.
