July 29, 2010 - The recently released new version of a PACS system is designed to deliver convenience and efficiency for clinicians.
The new PicomEnterprise PACS system offers direct integration to Philips’ QLAB 2-D and 3-D ultrasound image processing software. Facilities using Philips ultrasound systems will now benefit from the availability of Philips’ QLAB advanced ultrasound quantification tools within ScImage’s Enterprise PACS.
The integration allows the user to launch the QLAB application directly from the ScImage PACS workspace with automatic image data sharing. This capability eliminates the need to perform the quantification on the ultrasound system after the images are acquired and the need to send the images to a stand-alone workstation for quantification.
In addition to this enhanced workflow, facilities also benefit from the potential to increase throughput of their ultrasound systems. Embedding QLAB into PACS workflow allows physicians to perform advanced visualization of prior studies from anywhere for comparison purposes.
Images and data that are generated from the QLAB analysis are seamlessly made part of ScImage PACS Web distribution and archive along with diagnostic reports and workflow documents
