July 8, 2010 – Siemens Healthcare recently announced the 2.0 release of its Acuson S2000 ultrasound system, with applications across general imaging, including obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), as well as vascular and cardiac imaging.
The new release features:
• Next generation tissue strain analytics, including Virtual Touch HD technology and
Virtual Touch Tissue Quantification, the first application to provide a numerical value related to tissue stiffness at a precise anatomical location, which is highly promising in identifying early stages of liver diseases causing cirrhosis;
• Improved imaging performance, with applications like Advanced SieClear spatial compounding and Dynamic TCE tissue contrast enhancement technology, which has a new algorithm for advanced speckle reduction and enhanced contrast resolution; and
• Workflow improvements, including Live Dual Display feature, which eliminates extra keystrokes by allowing the simultaneous display of B-mode and color Doppler images with the push of a button, and syngo eSieCalcs border detection technology, which automatically calculates the volume or area of lesions once a boundary has been defined.
