May 25, 2010 - Upon the acquisition of Amicas, a radiology and cardiology information technology (IT) developer, Merge Healthcare will display Amicas products at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) meeting June 3 - 5, 2010 in Minneapolis.
Amicas' cardiology solutions, VERICIS, integrates data from different sites and different sources to create a comprehensive digital record on the patient. Web-based clinical reporting aims to improve cardiac patient management by streamlining the report generation and distribution process.
Also on display at Merge's booth will be the Merge Patient Kiosk designed for patients to take ownership of their healthcare experience by leveraging technology and providing streamlined processes that save time. The Avatar-based Merge Patient Kiosk allows physician practices to streamline patient billing and collection processes, re-allocate front office staff to other business tasks, extend hours of operation, offer culturally sensitive, multi-lingual services and create the ability to strategically place staff in a multi-site practice.
