SyMRI

April 26, 2010 - As magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology is an effective diagnostic tools for cases involving tumors, aneurysms, examining the condition of organs as the heart, liver, kidneys, brain, and in different soft tissue.

A new software called synthetic magnetic resonance is engineered to help hospital personnel reduce the time required per patient for MRI examinations, allowing them to increase the availability of the MR equipment. The software also allows clinicians to quantify tissue and identify and determine it volume.

A proprietary solution, SyMRI Suite, developed by Sectra’s partner Synthetic MRI, is now available on the market, and Sectra has secured the first order for the software from the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University of Bern. Clinicians will use the software in conjunction with virtual autopsies.

The University of Bern is the first of several pilot customers that have purchased the software, which is used together with Sectra PACS workstations.
