April 14, 2010 - As doctors become more mobile, requiring access to clinical data at remote workstations or at the point-of-care, the American College of Radiology (ACR) has launched the ACR Appropriateness Criteria Anytime, Anywhere application (app).
This new app provides physicians evidence-based clinical guidance for imaging decisions, covering 167 topics. The content includes topics from expert panels in breast, cardiac, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, neurologic, thoracic, urologic, pediatric, vascular, and women’s imaging, as well as interventional radiology and radiation oncology.
Physicians can download the app onto handheld electronic devices, including the iPhone, Blackberry, Palm products, and other personal digital assistants, smart phones, or handheld electronic devices.
Developed in collaboration with Skyscape, a mobile medical information company, this application is an alternative to radiology benefit management companies or computerized physician order entry systems that do not contain the ACR Appropriateness Criteria guidance.
