Fujifilm's FDR D-EVO.
March 23, 2010 - Orthopedic practices making the transition to digital radiography (DR) may find support in a new DR system that does not require modifications to an existing radiographic room.
A recently released DR system, the FDR D-EVO, is designed to be compatible with current X-ray systems within orthopedic practices. The unit is also designed to offer flexibility for imaging hard to reach angles, such as joints, bone and soft tissue, with its portable flat panel detector. The light-weight 14 x 17-inch DR cassette allows the unit can be positioned to capture angles to address lateral or other cassette-based exams as needed in and out of existing DR rooms.
The DR cassette-based solution employs Fujifilm's irradiation side sampling technology to increase image sharpness and offer better edge enhancements.
Other features of the FDR D-EVO include:
- Transmission of images to the technologist’s workstation in only five seconds, with cycle times of only nine seconds.
- It includes a detachable cord for repositioning the panel in the radiographic table or wall stand.
- The detachable cord reduces of battery life issues.
- The detachable cord may increase safety by reducing the potential trip hazards of a tethered cord.
