Resonance Technology Company, Inc. (Northridge, Ca.), an innovator in high-performance MRI-compatible technology, is introducing an exciting new concept in entertainment delivery for the MRI environment, as well as a jumbo, high resolution functional MRI (fMRI) panel fine-tuned for today’s most advanced MRI coils.
Debuting at RSNA for Resonance Technology’s CinemaVision, the world’s most popular MRI video entertainment product, will be a unique, flexible and reliable video panel/reflective entertainment viewing system that supports ultra-comfortable patient positioning for a full range of imaging exams. The system combines an adjustable high-resolution panel mounted directly inside the MRI bore and a mirrored audio/video headset for delivering all-digital entertainment to the patient. The enhanced CinemaVision system delivers industry-leading all-digital 240,000 pixel video resolution and stereo sound from a wide range of digital media and live television.
Studies have shown that when engaged in entertainment while in the MRI, anxious and claustrophobic patients are better able to complete their exams. CinemaVision also supports ongoing technologist audio/visual communication with patients during scans. Additionally, technologists can select their own virtual entertainment during the exam process, independent of a patient’s choice, making this the most versatile system on the market.
The new enhanced CinemaVision product offers multiple benefits, according to Resonance Technology CEO and founder Moktar Ziarati, “This new reflective delivery method is extremely comfortable and reliable. It eliminates the traditional heavier 3D goggles used in most MRI entertainment systems. Moreover, without the complexity of wired connections, the mirrored headsets simplify patient set up and enhance reliability and flexibility of the device.”
Also capitalizing on advancing technologies, Resonance Technology will introduce to its family of VisuaStim fMRI products a high-definition a Mega-LCD Panel with 1280 x 1024 dpi crystal clear, large-scale images and low signal-to-noise ratio. The new panel features two built-in eye-tracking cameras for precise vision monitoring. It is compatible with the new Siemens 32-channel brain imaging coil. Traditional 1280 x 1024 screen sizes do not provide an unobstructed screen view using this coil.
“Resonance Technology is proud to maintain it position as an industry leader with these new product innovations at RSNA 2009,” says Ziarati.
