September 1, 2009 – GE Healthcare and 2D/3D/4D imaging company TomTec Imaging Systems GmbH entered into a formal strategic cooperation contract to boost their excellence in echocardiography.

This new cooperation is designed to ensure a seamless integration of TomTec’s CardioArena program for analysis of 2D/3D/4D data into GE Healthcare’s cardiology IT solutions portfolio, Centricity Cardiology. This will result in a solution dedicated to streamline cardiologist’s workflows, increasing the department’s efficiency and shortening waiting times for patients.

By combining forces, the companies will deliver the tools cardiologists need to meet the challenges of ever increasing patient data and images. TomTec integrates its clinical application packages (CAPs) for the routine workflow, as well as advanced 3D/4D applications. TomTec’s CAPs are available for the visualization and quantification of the LV, RV and MV, vascular measurement and arterial health and comprehensive 2D image review and measurements.

Centricity Carddas and CA1000 is a successful combination of advanced clinical reporting functionalities and traditional DICOM viewing capabilities enabled with the latest 3D clinical analysis tools.
