July 30, 2009 - The Senographe Essential Interventional is an add-on digital stereotaxy option on the company’s innovative Senographe Essential digital mammography platform, which it will show at the Breast Imaging Conference (BIC), held Sept. 15-17, in Glendale, Ariz.
The Senographe Essential Interventional lets users perform biopsies without a dedicated biopsy room. The add-on solution enables technologists to quickly transition from initial screening applications to diagnostics, and if needed, to interventional procedures, all in one room.
The Senographe Essential provides a large field-of-view, which means it can accommodate a diverse range of patient shapes and sizes – all with reportedly high-image quality due to GE’s innovative digital flatpanel detector with high Detective Quantum Efficiency (DQE).
The Senographe Essential is designed to allow clinicians’ with easy localization of lesions and a consistency in image quality for diagnosis and biopsy. Once pinpointed, the new system allows for vertical and lateral approach in accessing the lesion, helping to improve overall efficiency and patient comfort while maintaining clinical confidence.
