February 25, 2009 - Merge Healthcare released Cedara ProPlanner 3.1, a digital solution for joint arthroscopy, trauma and deformity correction that can be integrated into existing applications such as PACS or EMRs.

Orthopedic surgical planning can be a challenge because the surgeon and vendor must work together, often quickly, to ensure that the correct supplies are present for the surgery. Cedara ProPlanner contains features such as semi-automatic calibration, user-defined measurements and image stitching that help decrease the time and cost of planning for surgeons and vendors. A long-standing Merge Healthcare customer is preparing to launch this product in Asia to meet surgeon demand for increased workflow efficiency, accurate and detailed digital plans, and potential increased profitability.

Cedara ProPlanner 3.1 offers internationalization and branding support for OEM partners, who can integrate it into existing PACS solutions, add it to a DR/CR modality or run it as a standalone workstation. Web-enabled Cedara ProPlanner is also available integrated into our Cedara I-Reach PACS solution, which provides interoperability with the eFilm viewer.
