January 6, 2009 - ETIAM this week released its new version (3.40) of DICOM Izer, a solution for capturing, converting and distributing non -DICOM images to PACS.

DICOM Izer 3.4 is designed to improved productivity and conformance to connectivity and interoperability standards.

Automatic operation allows selecting patients, capturing images and sending to the PACS quickly.

For more accurate image rendering, DICOM Izer includes several native processing tools. In addition, DICOM Izer supports both connected and roaming operation that allows user to leverage the solution across multiple examination rooms.

To eliminate data entry errors and ensure traceability, DICOM Izer retrieves patient information from databases through a DICOM Worklist connection. As an alternative, DICOM Izer supports the IHE Patient Demographics Query (PDQ) profile, which allows direct connection to HIS applications.

In addition to supporting still and motion video and audio capture in standard definition, DICOM Izer supports capture from HD video sources. Images and cine files may be distributed in standard multimedia format on various media, with or without PACS connectivity. DICOM Izer implementations are found in: dermatology, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, speech pathology (swallow studies), radiology and mammography.
