December 12, 2008 - Dexas Laboratory Sciences has established a strategic alliance with V.A.M.P. (Erlangen, Germany), a pioneer of micro computed tomography (CT) development, in which Dexas will distribute V.A.M.P.’s TomoScope, a micro-CT, in the North American market.
V.A.M.P., a spin-off of the Institute of Medical Physics (IMP) at the University of Erlangen, provides multi-modality scanning capabilities by making their scanners' hard- and software compatible with small animal scanners of other imaging modalities, such as PET, SPECT, MR or optical scanners.
Even for in-vivo scans, the manufacturers says that the TomoScope family of scanners can achieve spatial resolution of less than 80 µm. The TomoScope 30s DUO has a dual source design providing fast scan times that allow material selective microCT.
