November 14, 2008 – RADAR Medical Systems LLC released of its new generation of critical test result management (CTRM) software designed to provide instant notification of critical test results and document critical alert acknowledgements of communications between busy physicians and other healthcare providers.

RADAR Medical Systems is in discussions to install this latest version at a large teaching institution in Michigan as part of a clinical research trial. Installations have been completed in two teleradiology companies and are being scheduled for a hospital in Ohio.

RADAR follows protocols set by the Massachusetts’s Coalition for the Prevention of Medical Errors and provides computerized notification alerts and follow-up recommendations to referring providers, utilizing automated acknowledgement receipt, proving two-way communications. The RADAR system allows for easy generation of institutional compliance and quality assurance metrics by managing follow-up of test results for Joint Commission (JCAHO) inspections and national patient safety goal #2 (CTRM) compliance. All electronic communication “alert events” are tabulated, tracked and stored in an archival database for future reference.

The company is working with several RIS/PACS vendors looking to add a fully integrated CTRM solution to their current radiology software product offerings utilizing the company’s API.
