September 17, 2008 - Syntermed Inc. said this week it debuted the company’s SyncTool, a diagnostic tool for heart failure, on GE Healthcare Xeleris 2 workstation at the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) meeting.

GE Healthcare exclusively licensed the software for new Xeleris workstations in conjunction with Syntermed’s Emory Cardiac Toolbox (ECTb) and is offering it as an upgrade to existing customers. SyncTool, a phase analysis software, analyzes the benefits of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) in heart failure patients.

Syntermed also introduced at ASNC a range of new solutions for nuclear cardiology, including ReconTools to advance diagnostic capabilities, and Syntermed Live to improve imaging workflow. ReconTools, its newest software package, performs image reconstruction, quality control, and correction for phenomena that degrade image quality. ReconTools provide reconstructed data sets that can be analyzed by many quantitative platforms, the company said. It works with ECTb as an integrated, complete software solution for myocardial perfusion SPECT imaging. ReconTools also supports other software platforms and runs on stand-alone PCs to improve processing functions on older workstations. ReconTools is designed for labs seeking to upgrade and or refurbish their existing workstations at a cost savings, the company said.

The Syntermed Live system being used by nuclear cardiologists throughout the country is meeting the demand for virtual access and remote reading. It provides physicians with easy access and sharing of high-resolution heart images, diagnostic information and archived files from any PC/MAC at any time, through secure Web-based access for convenient remote reading.
